Vysehrad Accommodation
Vysehrad is the area between the Nusle Bridge and the river and extending uphill towards Pankrac. This is a fully residential area and Prague accommodation is generally around the 3 star range. It's a 30-40 minute walk into town but, has excellent bus/tram connections day and night. Most visited places in the area are the church of St Peter and St Paul, the associated cemetery and the riverfront Cubist buildings.
Vysehrad takes up a large area and the majority of it is in Prague 2. As you cross the Nusle Valley it becomes Prague 4. The most recognised part sits under the fortified walls of the old Vysehrad settlement and this area is served by both buses and trams. As the settlement extends uphill it borders Prague 4 and in this area you are restricted to day trams only.
