Prague Entertainment and Things to Do
There are Prague entertainment options available all day every day but the ones that people are most interested in will usually open after 11am.
You’ll find that Prague entertainment covers a wide range of activities so use this page as a gateway to get to where you want to go. For example you might want to check the Prague by Month section on the menu above which has an eclectic selection of places to try during your stay.
Likewise, many of the entertainment options below can be found in the activities section of the menu at the top of this page.
Classical and Theatres
If you are specifically looking for early evening Prague entertainment then the Culture and Theatres page will be worth a stop. Prague is famous for both it’s classical music tradition and a mighty selection of fantastic venues to enjoy it in. It’s not just for classic theatre productions either as you’ll find options for “Best of” performances and also check Latern Magika if you are looking more more modern multimedia and dance productions. Most culture/concert/theatre Prague entertainment start around 7 pm or a little later. Expect theatre performances to be in the region of 2-3 hours. Classical music concerts will be in the region of 60 minutes. You can buy tickets for all theatre productions via the pages above.
Bars and Clubs
Prague has a wide choice of bars and clubs open from late morning and closing early morning. Expect alcohol to be served in most places from 11am. Regular bars will have background music playing and may offer the opportunity to watch sports event. Cocktail bars and what we call lounge bars will open from 5pm. A lounge Bar will offer more of a nightlife experience with live music, a dance floor and a limited menu. More info respectively on the Bars page and the Nightlife page.
Looking to start a little later, then check the Jazz Clubs page. Doors open between 8pm and 9pm for most places. It’s worth reserving tickets at the bigger places especially if there is a particularly well know performer but also remember that if you do turn up at the door you’ll be able to hear the type of Jazz being played and it’s up to you if you want to buy tickets at the door. Many places operate a free cloakroom so just make sure to leave no valuables in your pockets. The Jazz page will explain which places play what style. Again you can buy Jazz club tickets and book a Jazz cruise via this site.
Gambling
Not interested in music, then what about some gambling. This kind of Prague entertainment has become so popular that people often book trips here just to play in Casinos like the Millenium or the Ambassador which are located within hotels here in Prague. The Casinos page introduces you not just to some of my favourite places but also general options for gambling in Prague as well.
Eating and Drinking
If you consider Restaurants as Prague entertainment then you won’t be disappointed either. For example, you could eat at a different place for lunch and dinner every day of the year and never leave the Old Town. My Restaurants page has details of 30 or so of my favourites or browse the whole Food and Drink section from the menu at the top of the page.
So check the Activities Blog and if you are leaning towards activities in Prague then check my City Card Comparison post because you might want to buy a Cool Pass. Happy hunting and have a great time. Also check the Prague by Month section for specific things that may be on during your visit.
