JAMA STEAKHOUSE HAS NOW CLOSED PERMANENTLY
Jama Steakhouse is located in an old style corner location on a fairly quiet side street about five minutes walk from Wenceslas Square. You enter and descend into a nice unpretentious basement restaurant which gets a good crowd for lunch and dinner. A smart bar area runs along one side with a few private booths whilst the main restaurant area is on the other side. Colourful walls adorned with music posters will put you in mind of an American-style bar. Service is quick and efficient but, with a smile. This is definitely a place to start off your evening with a great steak and a couple of beers of a nice bottle of wine (see below).
Jama Steakhouse – The Food
People who come here are afficiandos of either chicken wings, burgers or steaks. They do some other popular bar food but those three are the core of the menu so they do them very well. The delicious steaks are largely from South American Black Angus (dry aged) with the Hangar steak from the US and Filet Mignon from local Czech stock. The filet Mignon is available up to 1Kg uncooked weight. You decide how you want it cooked, a sauce and a side etc.
My Favourite: has to be the Black Angus rib-eye steak served medium with the Jack Daniel’s honey sauce and served with a jacket potato. Jama Steakhouse carries a fair selection of local and national beers (especially dark beers) on tap. For those who want a glass or two of wine with your steak then look for the “Aberdeen Angus Malbec” with a rich fruity texture and a hint of spice. Certainly not the cheapest on the menu but….you gotta live right?
