United Islands of Prague Music Festival
FREE and FUN. The brightest and the best music talent mainly from Czech but comprising at least a dozen different nationalities come together to play for you for FREE!!!
When and Where?
Date to be announced but usually in late May or the first week of June.
It’s a two-day event normally a Friday/Saturday (9am-10pm) and has different bands spread out over different stages. As a rule the toilet facilities are temporary “Toi Toi”, bring your own paper to be sure.
The Venue
The name comes from the original venue years ago on the river islands but lately the festival has been hosted on the main square in Karlin (Prague 8, 3 tram stops from Republic Square). The main stage is called “Karlin Stage” but there are several stages in the area. Basically United Islands takes over the park in front of the church and streets in the area so there’ll be a mix of music, food and entertainment. The Google Maps link is at https://goo.gl/maps/6m3gXemVQZJ2. Trams 3, 8, 14 and 24 stop at the square or the closest metros are Florenc and Krizikova.
Is Metronomefest Part of United Islands of Prague?
It’s planned and promoted by the same organisers as United Islands of Prague although the venue is in a different place i.e. the Vystaviste (Exhibition Grounds) in Holesovice Prague 7. United Islands is free-to-air. Think of Metronomefest as a Prague version of Glastonbury with an enclosed area, multiple stages, top bands and paid entry. You can read more on the Prague Metronome Music Festival page.
