February Brrrrrr!

Photo: Taken from Novotneho Lavka

February and November are probably the least busy months of the year as far as tourists are concerned. It's usually bitterly cold (as I'm writing this the forecast is -6 during the day going down to -16 at night) and the people selling hot chocolate and hot wine are making money. If you've got thermal underwear at home then bring it. February is still in the winter season so most parks and gardens are still closed and winter time restrictions are in place at most tourist attractions. February is a very psychological month with days gradually getting longer but accompanied by snow, the coldest temperatures of the year and the least amount of sun. But it also means that Spring is coming!

St Valentines Day
This is generally the busiest evening of the month for restaurants so make sure you get reservations in as soon as you can and bring your lock for the various places in the city that you can "lock your love". You might find some inspiration on my Scenic Restaurants page.

What's Been Happening on the Site
The cut over from my old site to the new version had a few bumps which I've been repairing so if you do find any dead links then feel free to let me know.  I wrote a short Bio on Jan Palach on the anniversary of his self-immolation (January 16th). Other added content included a short piece about radioactive pigs, the inspiration of Havel's Place, how an English charity is working to restore neglected cultural sites and even a piece on Eskimo-style fishing. So pretty much an eclectic mix that I hope you'll enjoy and share with your friends.

Got time for a comment?
The new website now makes it possible to leave comments so if you didn't have a Trip Advisor account and you wanted to leave a memory of your tour then that's now possible by clicking on the links below and scrolling to the bottom of that page.

Memorable moment
Just before starting a walking tour with a family from Perth, Australia (a city of 2 million people), as I usually do, I asked them if they knew a friend of mine who lived there. And they did!!!! (proved via pictures on Facebook).

Pinterest
Well it is 2017 so I finally got round to creating an account on Pinterest. Some old photos and many never published before on other forums so feel free to follow me at https://pinterest.com/livingprague/.
